Attracting Higher Paying Jobs and Strengthening Our Economy
“A growing economy that brings in higher paying jobs, that’s my top goal as your next State Senator.” Belinda knows that Central Florida must diversify its economy with new high tech jobs as well as protect its strongest assets - small businesses and tourism. Belinda knows what it takes to attract new businesses to the area. Before starting her own company, Belinda worked for Orange County’s Business Development Office. That’s where she became a Nationally Certified Economic Development Professional.

Schools that Work and Classrooms that are Safe and Disciplined
“Improving our schools and making sure our classrooms are safe and disciplined is a job for all of us, not just the school board.” Having been a past mentor to a Jones High School student, Belinda understands the importance of a good education. As our next State Senator, Belinda will fight for every child and every school in District 19.

Better Access to Affordable Healthcare
“People shouldn’t have to choose between making their healthcare or house payment. We need more primary care clinics right in our own neighborhoods.” Belinda’s priorities include initiatives that will result in more choices, better access and lower healthcare costs. One innovative idea Belinda will promote to help meet the needs of the underinsured is through healthcare zones. imilar to enterprise zones, governments offer incentives to doctors who agree to serve a percentage of uninsured patients.

Working for Safe and Secure Neighborhoods
“Fighting crime and making sure our neighborhoods are safe starts with supporting our law enforcement and being tough on criminals!” When it comes to fighting crime, Belinda believes we must all be part of the solution. Some of her volunteer work has included bringing after-school jobs and desperately needed mentoring programs to areas where youth gangs are on the rise. Belinda will work to fund more public safety and crime prevention programs.
